| fo4URm | Here's something i've been thinking about because someone from work was complaining about her son going out with a "douche". He's 14! & mets this girl once a week at scouts or something for an hour & he thinks that a relationship. And so does his mum & is disgusted by him. When i was 14 i started partying heavily, drink, drugs, sex, groping a plenty. Learning about the adult world. Now-a-days it's harder for kids to get drink over here & get into clubs underage, as rules are far stricter. But i read that kids of today are very sexualised from oh so much porn. I haven't seen any evidence of this, in fact quite the opposite. ...but i am 30+ now so i'm pretty clueless |
| CharlesWatkins | ive heard that too. i was a pretty bad kid and got into porn at a real young age. probably too much. porn is pretty bad for you. and that was even before the internet. when i got into the internet it was like the entire world of porn was at my fingertips. i can only imagine that today, (1) kids are getting introduced to porn at a much higher rate simply by browsing the web, and (2) those kids are getting into porn at a much more intense level due to the vast quantities of it available. this is yet another way I see the commercial internet negatively affecting society. |
| fo4URm | I got into porn young too, but i can't see much harm in that. What harmed me was my dad ogling every girl & making comments several times a day, still does. I think that harmed me a lot more, as i thought this was normal, i have now reprogrammed myself & think my Dad is a nut case. I don't see porn as a problem, we are programmed to want sex. It's societies lust for the perfect form that is damaging. (hopefully you know what i mean, i'm off to bed) |
| CharlesWatkins | its just bad in the sense that it is a huge distraction like television. young kids minds are developing rapidly and if they spend all day watching tv or looking at porn, its just less time that they could actually be building on other things. myself, i see all porn the same in that it's pretty tasteless, but one could argue that there are areas of porn that are a lot more damaging than others. for example ted bundy said himself before he was executed, that the reason he killed so many girls is cause he got into violent porn. |
| fo4URm | Yeh i was just thinking that, violent/abusive porn is a bad thing, it makes people with those tendencies think that it's a "normal" thing & begin to act out their fantasies. But normal porn, in todays already sexualised world can be a good thing Could help you to desensitise to it & think of other, more important things...it could also have the opposite effect. Your probably right with the whole distraction thing, but i reckon kids are pretty distracted by these things with or without porn. In the past it was was probably "OMG, i wanna see those boobies" so much so they couldn't think of anything else until they got married. Now you can just see any random pair of boobs & go on about your day :D |
